Our pricing structure, and other FAQs

  • Gardeners and allotment plotholders

    Our current pricing is :

£30 callout fee + 1st hour (within Greater Manchester, £50 outside GM but within 50 miles)

    £25/h after that.

We want to offer affordable pruning while still being able to cover our costs. We are a living wage employer, but we also try to keep our costs down by not using a chainsaw or a chipper.

We hope that the pricing structure is transparent and fair. If this presents a barrier to you, or you have any feedback, please let us know. We are open to discussing options!

For example, if you have a limited budget, we can cap the work after an hour. Trees will always benefit from a pruning, even if it isn’t extensive.

If you are a plotholder on an allotment and have another plotholder who also wants pruning done, we are open to splitting the callout cost between you if we can schedule multiple jobs for the same day. This also applies to neighbours in the same postcode.

  • Getting started is simple. Reach out through our contact form or email. If you can include a few pictures of the tree you want us to work on that helps a lot!

    • We are fruit tree focused, with twenty years of experience between us.

    • We prioritise tree health in our pruning system.

    • We prune to encourage fruiting, so that people can have long-lasting relationships with their trees.

    • We’re a worker co-op, so our responsibility is to our members, community and ecosystem. If and when we profit, it is re-invested into the co-op in order to deepen the service we offer.

  • We do not advertise ourselves as tree surgeons or arborists, as these roles require a slightly different skill set.

In general, we don’t offer tree surgery for trees that aren’t fruit trees as we don’t have chainsaws or ropes. We would recommend getting in touch with Treestation, another great Manchester co-op who do offer tree work/tree surgery.
